Maybe it's because of the AP show, Jockeys, but that track announcer (Trevor something) annoys me....both the voice and the comments- "ZENYATTA IS DEAD LAST!! ZENYATTA IS DEAD LAST!!" hmmm, okay, keep stating the obvious, as this is the filly's racing style in every single one of her 14 starts. rolleyes2.gif

What a race that was! I'm not one to yell at the TV set, but I was doing just that last night, after Quality Road started acting up, before they decided to blindfold him, I was yelling "he's not going in that gate today, scratch him already and get the show on the road", I was, I think, mostly concerned that his temper tantrum was going to screw with Zenyatta's head and affect her race, then when he went nuts after they got him in the gate, I swear I thought disaster was about to strike. Then she was on the wrong lead, and I thought maybe something was wrong with her, but once she/Smith got that fixed, I knew the race was on....as she blew past horses down the stretch, I was no only screaming like a banshee, sending my dogs into hiding, I realized after it was over that my heart was pounding, something I've never experienced while watching a horse race.

I'm a huge fan of both Zenyatta and Rachel Alexandra, but Zenyatta should get the HOTY title this year.

Yeah, Trevor Denman. I'm not a fan.

I'm the first person to admit that I don't know the first thing about racing, despite having followed both RA and Zenyatta this year. But I thought the starter that held onto a blindfolded Quality Road the way he did deserved a fucking medal. That's a job you couldn't pay me enough to do- and I can't even imagine what the outcome would have been if they hadn't managed to hold on like that. Seriously, kudos to that guy.

Concur in spades.
