Did we discuss this years ago? It's so they can roll peanuts on the ground so that their rider always has a snack available out on the range.
I know the riders also teach them to look for loose change, but if the hoss stumbles, and a lot of those horses barely seem to track up, surely the rider goes straight out the front door? Head/ground interface ensues.
