what a star
Hey everyone, as always, we need judges for our horse show. This time however, we're using a different method. We're using specific judges for each class, to try to provide a higher quality level of judging (so we don't have just western ppl judging dressage, and eventers judging hunter and so on). This way, we won't need people to spend hours judging the whole show.

Please use this post to specify what disciplines you have trained in, and what level you have shown in your discipline. Please post the names of ALL the classes you have NOT entered and are qualified to judge. (Qualified - meaning you've shown/trained in said discipline). If there are a bunch that you are able to judge, please post all of them, and put a star next to the ones you would prefer to judge.

Anyone is eligable to judge the Special Classes. Once we have enough judges we will notify everyone of which classes they are responsible for.

you tried the catchrideshow@hotmail.com address? (I think thats right lol but don't quote me - check the other topic by bbb) Was it just too full?

I will make another email account as a backup in case the first one fills up too quickly, but as of this moment, hotmail is too busy. Myself or BBB will figure something out.

I'll judge whatever you want me to judge. Ive been riding hunter/jumpers for 8 years and ride with a dressage/eventer trainer. I was also in 4-H for a while and I know a lot about pretty much every discipline. Im too lazy to go out and take pictures to enter so I can do any class. BigThumbUp.gif
AllTheBestrdr07
I've been showing hunters for about 10 years so I feel qualified to judge hunters. I'm currently showing at the 3' level and have spent almost 5 years at the 2'6" level because of trainer changes. I've also showed in equitation. I've starred the classes I feel I can judge. I also didn't enter any classes so there isn't any conflict.

Hey guys sorry I take back that I can judge 2' Short Stirrup Hunters because I've found a picture that I would like to enter in that category
HorseGal
I don't show an extreme amount, but I do know a few things tongue.gif

I know what things are supposed to look like, I can judge form over fences (horse and rider), on the flat and conformation.

Bolded are classes I have(will) not enter that I feel I can judge:

I'm not entering the show, so I'll judge whatever needs it.

I've ridden hunters/jumpers/eq for 11 years, have done pretty much everything from the short stirrup/ponies to the children's jumpers to the big eq...yada yada...

Cr Easter Show Class List

I have shown in some point in my riding career in all the classes listed below.... I only showed a limited time in the hunters in the childrens and then again as a pro in the low and working hunters. MY main experience in the hunters is not so much showing in it, but watching it for 18 years...

Hunters and Equitation:

2'9"-3' Low Hunters
3'3"- 3'6" Working Hunters
Horse Hunters U/Saddle
Horse Conformation
Eq on the Flat
Eq over fences

* I primarily showed in the jumpers, started at age 5 in the children's and started riding junior jumpers at age 8. I rode in my first Futures class (4'3-4'9) at age eight, and won it on my old horse Fearless Fella. I continued riding juniors until I was 18, but became a professional @ 16, and rode for different trainers in the training jumpers, prelims and modifieds until I was 22. I also brought along young TB's off the track in the training jumpers up to prelims and marketed them as prospects.

* I can judge the hunters as I have a pretty good eye for correct jumping form for the riders and their horses, although I wouldn't consider my background "equitation" oriented.
I also never showed in dressage but all my horses were trained in basic dressage, and could easily do lower level tests

Other Disciplines:

Dressage
Jumper Low (3 feet and under)
Jumper High (over 3'3)

hey
I've been riding in various areas for 6 years, from hunters to dressage to saddleseat. lol Right now i show hunters and Eq, soon jumpers.

I can judge jumpers, but i was wonering, jumping isn't really judged... Its whether you leave the jumps up and speed.. So how would you judge that? Just wondering

I can judge anything out of the following if you want

2'9"-3' Low Hunters
Eq on the Flat
Eq over fences
Jumper Low (3 feet and under)
Jumper High (over 3'3)
Best Head Shot
Cutest Picture

I'd love to judge! I haven't entered in any classes.

I've only been riding for 5 years but okay, here goes...

I could judge any of the following, plus any of the special classes, whatever you want!

Eq on the Flat
Eq over fences
(Competed only Eq, jumper and fun shows for the first few years)

Dressage (My main one! I'd LOVE to judge this one! PLEASE! inlove.gif hahah I LOFF Dressage, that is what I have been doing solely for the last 2 or 3 years, that's all I did with my mare who was just put down a few weeks ago, we trained extensively in Dressage, but as we only got one show season together, we never made it past First Level in the show ring, although we were schooling higher.)

Eventing (did a brief stint of this in between my fun show/jumper days and my dressage days, this is where I first fell in love with Dressage!)

Best Gallop (Sounds like fun heheh and I love a good gallop.. always wanted to be a jockey but I'm way too tall hahah!)

Jumper Low (3 feet and under) (Again, where I got my showing start, competing in pony jumpers and then under 3' classes, Jumper Classic, stuff like that)

Special Classes:
Costume
Best Head Shot
Cutest Picture
Nicest Trot
Nicest Canter

LaurenP
i will judge Smile.gif the ones with stars are the ones i'm not entered in, I've been showing on the "A" circuit for 4 years, do the low jr. jumpers and the big eq.s right now have done small ponies, green large ponies, childrens hunter, childrens jumpers...didn't enter the non-hunter/jumper (dressage etc.) events but i don't really know anything about those so probably shouldn't judge them.

Um, if you go through and see any classes no one's willing to judge, I would be willing to fill in. Maybe someone (a really nice, patient someone) could go through and list how many signed up to judge each class.

I'm qualified to judge conformation (I've just attended two Pony Club H-A level confo clinics and have loads of handouts, and I'm a C-2 myself), but I don't feel comfortable doing hunters or huntseat eq. I'm also willing to do Costume,(after being a camp counselor I'd like to consider myself a costume class pro. newlaugh.gif) Most Creative(I have an art background, I sort of know what good and bad "artsy" photos are), Best Trot, and Best Canter(I know more about good dressage movement, this might not be what you're looking for).

All the others I'm qualified for are ones I'm entering. BigThumbUp.gif

One thing I just thought of: Do you think maybe each judge could just put down a little blurb about what they thought of the photo(why it won, why it didn't)? Just a sentence so people have some sort of feedback for the hell of it. It doesn't have to be on the webshots, maybe emailed or something.
KissMeQuick2292
Sure Rumble.. can you tell I have nooooooo life?? tongue.gif

I'm guessing anything with less than 4 (?i don't know though?) needs some more judges. I don't know how many judges are being used for each class, but anyway...

Here's the # of judges for each class.

Hey guys.
Sorry about being full and all. I'm trying to empty them as fast as I can.
If you have the pics in webshots, etc... posting the link doesn't fill up the inbox as bad. If you can't, don't worry about it and attach the pic.
I've made another address to send pics to.
So if you still haven't sent pics in you can send them to

or

I've been riding 9 years. I've shown in everything from local to AA shows. I am now an A/A hunter I went to HITS ocala this year getting an 8th out of 52. I went to Hits Catskills 2 years ago and was 2nd out of 31 in the Mod. children's hunters, and then in 1998 I went to lake placid and just showed some pleasure stuff. I've jumped up to 3'6" and started my horse as a 4 y/o straight off the track and turned him into a nice little a/a hunter.

haven't read the other thing, but I assume you read me saying "I'd take care of the judging" - what I meant was this topic. I'd take care of organizing the judging.

I will judge some of what I'm not in (if I'm allowed to enter that is) but we will most definitely need judges. I've put all this into word and am sorting out whose judging what. I'll let you all know asap what your judging.
