Alright, since I'm in a fittness class at school, I take advantage of the equipment there, but I still work out at home too. I'm a huge fan of dumbells, and I get a lot of my work done off that and then just doing exercises that don't require equipment (like stairs for toe raisers). My inner thighs aren't looking so hot right now, and I'm wondering on what exercises y'all do to tone and strengthen? fyi I already run daily, do jump rope, sprints, etc. to fill around 25-30 min cardio. I've been doing a lot of squats and lunges with 10 lb weights, but I can't say that's really been making a difference the past couple weeks, even with upping reps. So I'm open to suggestions!

They're called fire hydrants i think. Get a mat, and get on your hands and knees. Lift a leg to the side, and extend your lower leg out and back, then bring your leg back down. You can try holding your leg extended out, but it hurts real bad haha. Just doing sets of these for both legs kills ya good.

Go to like a TJ max or marshalls or something and find your self a Thigh master (you can also find them online). Seriously, they work very well, for your inside and outside of you leg. My old trainer made everyone have one...

It's totally worth it to get the one with Suzanne Somers from the 90s (I know other people watched Step by Step too!!) just for the packaging. There are these machines at almost any gym that are called hip adduction. They are focused on strenghtening your inner thighs.

What everybody said is good.
I learned that your inner thighs are in a spot that can't be toned by walking, running, jump rope, etc. You have to do exercises specific to that area. I'm trying to work on my inner thighs too. It's a very hard spot to tone! |

I did that on a normal basis to keep my back from spazzing out, and it helped me get back into a regular workout routine. I can't remember the name of the vid, but there's this one co. that does a really good job with their workouts. I'm on my schools lax team, and within a week I had extremely muscular thighs. I don't know if you have the time to devote to another sport, but if you're really looking for fast results, join some sort of sports team, like soccer, lax, field hockey, anything that had you running around.
Plus, if you give field hockey a shot, not only will you have really strong muscular and defined legs, but a cute butt comes with the package as well. Kind of a far out solution, and it would be a big time commitment, but this is the one way that I canget my whole body into shape in about a weeks time. |

Actually, some of my friends do it once in a while and some say it is boring and others say it's the best and most fun way to exercise. Well the trainer is hilarious. Very, very dry sense of humor yet upbeat at the same time. I'm doing it with one of my riding buds (she goes to a dif barn), and we do dinner afterwards. Generally for the first 30 min we do a lot of strength and core work, focussing on control which for me, is very, very difficult as my coordination has never been stellar. I'm frequently the one who mixes up my left from my right, and working sides in opposite pairs? um, yeah, I lose that pattern really quick. The next 30 min is more cardio and we work on more kick boxing stuff. I did discover the importance of wearing the right size gloves, as the ones I borrowed were too big, and my left knuckles are completely raw from the bag. I'm dreading putting my riding gloves on today. I can see how people could find it boring, but I think the enviornment and the instructor plays a huge role in whether or not you enjoy kickboxing, as it is with most sports. Regardless, it's a total body workout. I'm sore everywhere today except my front abs (but I've always had a good flat stomach, so...). -------------------- |

Oh its called "the clam"
Lay on the ground on your side with both legs bent. Keeping your feet together, raise them up, while your legs are still bent. Your knees will be pointing down. Then, still keeping your feet together, lift and close the leg that is on top like a clam. Get it? |

I learned a new one today. Stand up and put a resistance band under both of your feet, cross it, and grab on to both handles so it makes an X shape. Then step to the side and back in with one foot at a time. It really works that booty too!
