I have to write a term paper on the history of dressage (particularly its revival during the renaissance). We are required to have three book sources on the subject, so I was wondering if anybody knew of any good dressage books that have info on its history?

Thanks biggrin1.gif

None off the top of my head, but Amazon is a good place to look. You could also look on the USDF website for any good sources.

Hi there...I collect dressage books (unfortunatly my newfound addiction to eBay has made it a very expensive habit!). However, some books I would recommend:

- Xenophon, trans. Morris H. Morgan The Art of Horsemanship Sydney R. Smith Sporting Books

- Sylvia Loch Dressage: The Art of Classical Riding Trafalgar Square Publishing

- Charles De Kunffy The Ethics and Passions of Dressage Half Halt Press

- Nicole Bartle, General Decarpentry Academic Equitation Trafalgar Square Publishing

- Volker Schusdziarra Anatomy of Dressage Half Halt Press

- Michel Henriquet Henriquet On Dressage Trafalgar Square Publishing

I hope that helps you...good luck with your essay!
